Scott Haggerty was first elected to the Alameda County Board of Supervisors in 1996, and currently serves as President. Supervisor Haggerty has an extensive background in regional transportation, serving on several boards and committees as a source for the Bay Area. Mr. Haggerty is a founding member of the Inter-Regional Partnership, which is a representation of elected officials from the counties and cities of two regions. Appointed by former Governor Pete Wilson, Mr. Haggerty served on the California State Seismic Safety Commission and has made public safety a major priority.
Mr. Haggerty is active in the community as a board member for various foundations such as Alameda County Meals on Wheels, Goodwill Industries of the East Bay, and as Chair of the Twin Valley District of the Boy Scouts of America.
Mr. Haggerty has served on the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum Authority Board of Commissioners for over 9 years
